You can't have ur cake and eat it too here. Something has to slip by if every piece of luggage brought on board isn't hand checked. People are going to overlook shit, especially when they are looking at thousands of bags every hour and the lines for security checks are long.

They don't solve any problems.

The only proof whether they actually "work" or not is the same as deer whistles. As long as you don't hit a deer, they work...
