The entire point of the First amendment is that you are free to state your beliefs.
Thats why the framers never thought to include a right to privacy. Why the hell would we need that if we clearly state that you can say what you believe without fear.

Votes are secret because of things like intimidation.

Votes and signatures are both expressions of political choice. Both might invite intimidation/retaliation.
