Adventure Camp
Puget Sound Safety offers weekend training courses (http://www.pssor.com/info.php?type=adv) that focus on the skills needed to ride larger dual sport bikes off-road but this was the first time they held a female only class. 18 women from Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho and even 1 from Alaska meet in Roy, WA for a weekend filled with riding, seminars, and camping.
Riding skills learned included body position, riding over, on and around obstacles, riding in sand or gravel, stopping and starting while going up and down hills, and physically turning your bike if you find yourself stuck on a hill. The seminars went over how to pack your bike light, cooking on the trail, rope recovery of a bike, picking up your bike, satellite trackers, and necessary accessories such as engines guards and skid plates. Overall it was a great weekend. I learned a ton, dropped my bike several times, meet some great people and had a lot of fun. My GS covered in frost. It was a little early for camping!
