There is no blanket rule for spanking. You have to find what works for your child and use it. It might be spanking, it might not. The key is to never punish your child in anger and make sure they learn something from the experience.

I try my best to always ask my daughter if she knows why she was punished. If she answers incorrectly, I explain the correct answer. I'm trying my best to raise her to use logic and reason and understand that her actions have consequences.
