you have to realize that in this area, many manuf jobs have left. 1700 people going on unemployment would have resulted in almost zero chance of them finding any work. absolutely no chance of a job earning their current salary.
we recently hired 14 manuf people here. entry level, low paying jobs of the 14 12 had college degrees.
those 200 losing their job have some very impressive severance packages
