Good. I was starting to worry about you. That sort of thing takes money though. You guys should have a permanent base on The Moon, by now, not part ownership of a tin can timeshare, in orbit.

Yeah, Apollo was huge f'ing money and the lost support bad after the first moon landing. People weren't even paying attention to Apollo 13 until the explosion. That's just ludacris to think about that people got that uninterested in going to the moon that fast. I didn't agree with everything JFK did, but he really pushed us as far as stretching our goals as humans and Americans in the technological sense. We need another leader with that frame of mind to get NASA off their ass. I doubt anything like that will happen til we get some kind of recovery going though.

That sort of thing could be used to help spur recovery. There are no leaders left though; just politicians.

A better question is, 'who cares about Canadian history?'...

And the answer would be... Nobody.

Which is, of course, why none of you knew that we were the third nation into space.

I can understand why you don't want to know about Canadian history. After all, no one likes to read about someone burning their capital.

I also don't remember who won any of the bronze medals in the last Olympics, who came in third in the last election, and the third guy to make a transatlantic flight... and nobody else does either... because if you aren't first, you don't matter.

As far as the War of 1812 was concerned, that's American history too... and it was Brits who burned the capital.

That's true, but Canada fits in to the why.

Actually it was some Regulars and a bunch of Nova Scotia Irregulars, which translates to fishermen and potato farmers with guns

Right, but that's a different question.

Depends on which history books you read apparently.
