Wouldn't that be redundant with a remake of "The Thing" already coming in October? (which I was not particularly happy about, except that it stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

I liked The Thing, it was ahead of its time. My favorite was when the decapitated head sprouted spider legs and walked away.

Ahead of it's time in what way? Effects? Because John Carpenter's version was a remake. This new one coming out will be the 2nd remake.

It's one of my favorite movies in the genre. First time I saw it when I was young it was creepy and suspenseful as Hell.

I thought the one coming out this year was a prequel, not a remake. It's supposed to lead up to the John Carpenter version.
