Caterham Superlight R500
seen this on Top Gear the other night, was like in the top 5 fastest cars w/ tha stig. and watching the stig around the course was awesome, no electronic gizmo's , just pure driving skill!

I think the most amazing things are that the car is a design refined over the last 50 years and Caterham has been producing cars with similar performance for over 10 years. The real shame is that Top Gear chooses to rarely test them and when they do they give us a fraction of a normal test apparently because they view the car as too "dorky".

One of the issues of using an r6 shock laid over like that is that it gets blown out easily and needs replacing.

yup it sorta was, and no not so locost, but still cheaper than the real thing. I used more than a few original parts, including most of the firewall and the trans tunnel. You can tell a locost vs a lotus by the square tubing, the caterham while looking very similar uses a very different frame, not even close to the original.
All I really need to explain is that I had a 13btt in a car that weight a little under 1200 lbs with me
