Penultimate.

Nick Harris, (the MotoGP announcer) loves this word. Every goddamn race is the "PENULTIMATE ROUND", which is of course impossible, since the word means next to last.

Drives me crazy.

Yeah, I heard a guy say, "I deep-dived into that" about 5 times yesterday on the same call. Wrong on several levels...

I'm going to start keeping a tally of how often he says it.

I found out yesterday that someone in one of the other offices tracks how many bad jokes he tells on a conference call.

My kids say that everything is 'epic'. Drives me nuts. Had to sit them both down last night in front of a dictionary and recite the meaning of epic.

No, your haircut is freakin NOT EPIC!!!

My GF is a huge book reader. And we got into a big debate about the Preface of a book (mainly to annoy her). Now I know you pronounce the "pre" part the same way you would say "preference". But I call the "pre" like you would in Preview. My justification is that the 1st way is only used when attached to something that isn't a word. What is a ference or stige (as in prestige). But I can tell you what a view is or face.
