Well. It's gotta be cgi. You really want a dude walking around in spandex? They're taking "old" comics from decades ago to life in our period. They're not going to use spandex, cardboard, and foam to make them.

I do agree with you on the comedy with these super hero movies. They make them try to be everything. Serious, funny, stupid, smart, etc etc all in one. I guess to please all the movies viewers? I want a serious super hero movie with a serious main character with blood and guts. There's been enough kid safe movies made. I want to walk out of the theater saying, "THAT MOTHAFUCKIN MOVIE KICKED ASS" and not, "Another fucking Fantastic Kiddie Four movie."

That confused me too. I found out about the trailer on my phone and it took me to the fan made one. I saw the time frame and the dude that wasn't Reynolds and was weirded out. Took awhile to find the real one. I guess the fan made one is in internet hype mode right now.

If they are gonna do a story heavy on CGI, they could have used Kyle Rayner. Kyle was the replacement for Hal after the Emerald Twilight story arc, when Hal was "Possessed" by the creature Parrallax. Kyle was an artist, his suit was very similar to the movie suit and he was a bit more on the funny side. I would have rather seen Guy Gardner or even the rumor of Common playing John Stewart, that would have been pretty bad ass. Hal was a test pilot from the 60's and 70's era, brave, soft spoken and very smart. This movie makes him look like a doofus douche. They have the script, the storyboards and the look and feel that they should have used...the books. If they are gonna try to pull in a younger audience, then use the younger Lantern, dont shit on an icon, like they did in Batman and Robin and Fantastic Four. Green Lantern was very much focused on adults when it was released, with the relationship of Hal and Sinestro and Sinestro's fall from grace and then his turn to being a "Bad Guy". I think DC is trying to reel in a younger audience and in doing so, losing why the characters are beloved. I hope Nolan and Snyder turn the trend around with the new Superman and maybe Preacher will be good. If Superman is good...maybe Kingdom Come will be green lit.

Suck, but that's just how it goes. The producers/directors can do what they want.

I still wanna see the Green Lantern. Even the bad comic book movies are better than some of the other shit out there. Not that I'm gonna pay for any of it, but I will watch it

I agree, Ryan Reynolds would have been fine as Raynor, but not as Jordan, that's gonna piss me off. Don't expe3ct anything really awesome out of Superman, and I shudder to think what Preacher will be like.

Green Hornet looks like it'll be pretty good. They're playing off a how largely unknown (in North America, at least) Bruce Lee became the REAL hero in the original series, completely out-shining Van Williams, who played The Hornet. It pretty much got his international career rolling. Halfway through the series the producers had to start giving Bruce more face time, because the audience demanded it.

Green Lantern just isn't the sort of comic book, that can make the transition to movies. It's going to come off as just plain silly. For that reason it's good that they chose someone like Reynolds, who will pretty much play a motor-mouthed idiot anyway, but it's going to tank badly.

They really need to move on from the classic comics and stick to graphic novels, if they want to pull in audiences. For example "The Warrior's Way" is shot in the style used in "200" and "Sin City", and looks like it'll be pretty good.
