Then she probably wouldn't say their overall grades wouldn't be impacted.

Technically its "illegal" here and can get you sent to Jail.
I'm talking about other countries where you have to slip everyone a $100 just to get a permit.

So for maybe $100.00 a clueless student who should be held back for a year can advance to the next grade?

I actually agree with Trip...it's how the world works It’s how most politicians got thru school anyway (parents money/influence)

When was the last time you were there?

We can only hope!

The way the article reads, I think it's a $20 cap.

Who gives a flying fuck? They're not teaching anything useful or relevant anyway so their grades are a very moot point. Especially considering they won't fail you anyway...

So what you're saying is that the education system is broken so go on breaking it worse, rather than fixing it?

Actually it all boils down to the EOG's here in NC (End of Grade test)

If you can't pass that you don't PASS

And they spend ALL year just prepping for that. IF you LEARN anything as a side effect, then that’s great...but it's about EOG's. Especially since the teachers evaluation is solely based off their student’s performance OF the EOG's

Here if you have failing grades they ask your parents if they want to hold you back a grade. If not, on you go.

Of course, since they're not teaching anything substantial failing doesn't really mean shit anyway.
