OK, skool the newb please!

I keep seeing a lot of people posting up in various threads about this "other forum." Or I see "The forum that shall not be named."

OK, this has made me bite...........What the heck are you all talking about?? I get the feeling that there was another forum similar to this that broke apart becuase of some hardships or bad feelings from the creators. Maybe I'm completely wrong, maybe you all just came from another forum where the blood just got too bad and the majority of you left??

Maybe it's just none of my buisness and I should keep my nose where it belongs??

Personally, I would really like it if you told me what's up instead of just telling me to kiss off.

Long story short... VS took it over, fucked it all up, lied to the admins, everyone bitched and moaned, most of us got banned (most very well deserved), and Trip started this place... mostly everyone jumped ship.

And...if you're wondering about the "other-other" forum...that would be CF...or cycleforums. The same thing happened to it except with a twist. The owners of CF sold it because they needed to...they get hit really bad by a drunk driver over a year ago, which put them both (hubby and wife who owned it) out of work...or to where they couldn't work much. They also owned an online store called Trick Tape which they shut down due to not being able to handle the business properly due to the accident. They kept waiting for a settlement to come in to help put them back on their feet but time dragged on and it didn't happened. They sold Trick Tap and got other jobs, but it wasn't enough to pay their bills and meet the bills of CF, so they sold it to VS. A bunch of us, who had already been through the bullshit VS does to damn good forums bailed. Not because we didn't care for the original owners, but because we couldn't stand seeing what VS was doing to our home.

We got invited to come live here and those of us who started hanging out here have made it our home....although I know there's probably a few original TWF members who wish we hadn't migrated over here.

CF was a damn huge board with about 50,000 members......

This is about what I figured. While I am not a member of either of them, I have lurked around on both of them searching a little at a time trying to learn about my bikes. I hate it when this sort of thing happens, but sometimes it's the way that things need to go. IMHO, this place is and will become much better than either of those two.

Sad thing about forums is, we all become more of a family than we care to think, and family life can be rough sometimes but we just need to work through it. I have seen this numerous times on the board that I am a moderator on, bbs.zuwharrie.com. It seems that it comes in phases but quickly goes back to the way things were. Most people have a hard time sucking up their pride and just saying sorry or, you we're right, I was wrong.

Either way, I'm glad to be here and I appreciate all the info that I have got and will get from you all.

I think everyone summed it up properly. So far this place has been a haven for those running from VS owned places.

I found twowheelfix right when it got abandoned and I am glad I found my over here.

This forum could always use new people but the current people are just great too.
