Storage unit question.

I'm talking about the storage units - paying to store something that potentially holds or goes up in value I get. But to pay $100 a month on crap that's worth $100 TOTAL (and dropping) blows my mind.

Ever moved between homes and needed a temporary storage solution for all of your belongings? What about if your job requires you to keep a crap load of product samples, brochures, etc. - you want to use your own garage for that shit or would you rent space and expense it? What if you need somewhere to store an old antique car and your therapist's decapitated head in a jar of formaldahyde?
