So, what should have TSA done? Took the lady's word for it? Surely a terrorist wouldn't lie. As a frequent traveler, I have no problem with what TSA is doing.
Except in extreme cases, flying is an option. If security is too tough for you, drive or take a train. Some people baffle me. The same people who are bitching about the pat downs would be the same ones bitching about ineffective security if another attack happened.

1) Anyone who has been reading the papers knows it would be detected by the backscatter machine.
2) Most people, including the TSA, are stupid and can't be trusted to act professionally once they see it on the scanner. In other words, expect the worst. Just put it in your carry-on and wear a baggy sweatshirt. |
