Video from my homemade drone.
When I was a kid I was into R/C planes, I built two planes and flew one once. I just didnt have the money to do more or access to a flying field unless I got someone to drive me 30 minutes away. Earlier this year I discovered that theres sort of a home-brew UAV movement going on based on inexpensive electic planes and multirotors with onboard computer autopilots and I decided to give it another try, I though it might be a good way to do some aerial photography.
My plane: It has a full autopilot that lets it fly autonomously and a data link to transmit information from the flight computer to the ground in real time. Plus a GoPro camera with an AV out feed going to a video transmitter which sends live video to the ground. Heres some video from this week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5lk2Jz_BbM This video shows what I see on the ground station, the onboard video is from a cheap keychain camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX1LL...hannel&list=UL My Quadcopter: This doesnt have a full autopilot in it yet, but it does have a flight controller that can auto stabilize and maintain a chosen altitude and heading. http://vimeo.com/43389666

I had a little accident at the beach a few weeks ago when I flew out of radio range and my quad fell into the water. Some people saw it and asked if were were from homeland security

The local Muslim community is going freak the fuck out, when they hear there's a black dude with a fleet of drones in town.

Pretty frakkin sweet. You might be able to make some $$$ off of that doing building/ area flyovers.
