Blue Ridge Parkway Landslide
Been a fun afternoon in the rain! The Parkway had a major landslide today.
It will be closed indefinitely between mile markers 399.7 and 401.1. For those of you who know the area you will only be able to access Mount Pisgah via HWY 276 and Parkway south below that access point. From the Asheville area you must exit the Parkway at HWY 191. This will be a major detour. It will be fun dealing with the PO'd leaf peepers! Will try to post pics later

Right now you gan't access 151 via the Parkway but.... they are trying to get things clean to the point that they can open it at 151.
It's still pouring and the mnt is still sliding. Will update later got to get out there and turn people around. FUN!

Sounds about as fun as I-20 being closed down a few weeks ago from the flooding. People travelling E-W on I-20 for a few days had to tack an extra 60-75 mins to their commutes/routes for just a couple of miles of detours.

that's ok, all my weekend riding plans have been pre-empted by a f**king WINTER STORM WATCH anyhow.
I wonder how long "indefinitely" will be...
