Damn racoons
Are back, just not in my roof this time. I am out on the deck grilling some burgers for dinner. First I notice the light sensor on th epatio below was tripped, figured no biggie. So then I hear something in the tree right behind me ( we have a tree that comes up alongside the deck. And I see the beaddy little eyes and the bank robber mask. He climbs outof the tree and is sitting on the bench staring at me. I go back inside to find a weapon ( wish I had a pellet gun now) come out with a metal flagpole, this thing nonchallantly walks up to the garbage and starts looking for food. I took a few pokes at it and it backed off then sort of walked towards me, thing didnt show any agression whatsoever though. I hit it a few times and it backed off and went back towards the tree and climbed up into it. I went after him some more and he just meandered on down and was on his way.
I found it odd this thing had no fear of humans (much less me ) and even when being threatened/attacked didnt have any sense of urgency. If I could have gotten closer and had a better weapon I was def ready to kill this thing and it didnt seem to care. Hopefully he got the message and wen tto look for food somewhere else. |

He will be back. He isn't worried about you at all. Someone must be feeding them. There is a crazy woman by my mothers that feeds them. Those damn fools walk out before dark now. They don't care who is around. I went to put something in my green bin one night and just as I went to open it I heard a noise and jumped back. I went in and turned on the light. The fucker climbed out of the bin and walked off. It wouldn't have been good if I opened that lid with him in there. James

They havent been around in a while I heard them up on the roof a few times and I guess were bummed we closed up thier little hangout in my attic. Were near a big park and a couple of nature preserves down by the water so theres plenty of places for them to hang out. A couple of times our trash has been torn up as has some of the neighbors, now I try not to put the stuff outside untill its pickup day. What surprised me was how nonchallant the lil bugger was. There was a second one still in the tree, I dont know if it was a baby or not. I know these things can be a bit unpredictable so I didnt want to give it an opportunity to come at me but even after I ghit him a few times he didnt seem to care. I think my dad has an air rifle so I may see about borrowing that as well. Gina while I kind of agree and I like the racoon more than a lot of my patients theres legal issues to contend with if I bludgeon them, no matter how much they deserve it Tom |
