Default Rehoming fee?

Why do people use this term when getting rid of their pets? We already know they are pretty worthless by profitting off of getting rid of a pet, they don't need to try to make themselves look better by coming up with a fancy term for what they call their profit...

Been looking at rescues and unwanted dogs, a lot of backyard breeders and craigslist people use this term when they want to charge you a fee (sometimes large fee) to take their unwanted dogs.

I guess it sounds more warm and fuzzy than unwanted dog price tag.

yeah, but they don't have any breeds I want right now. Looking at some more specialized breed rescuers in the area, but takes awhile to go through the application process with some of them.
