Phone Call Delays Flight To Houston
AirTran Flight Delayed 2 1/2 Hours

ATLANTA -- AirTran Airways says a flight from Atlanta to Houston with more than 70 passengers on board was delayed when a passenger refused to end a cell phone call.

AirTran spokesman Christopher White told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Flight 297, a Boeing 717, was taxiing on the runway in Atlanta Tuesday afternoon when a crew member asked a passenger to turn off his phone.

White says that after several failed attempts by the crew member to end the conversation, the captain returned the plane to the gate.

White says the passenger complied when he was asked to get off the plane. He says no charges were filed, and that the plane departed for Houston 2 1/2 hours later.

They should definitely charge him.

Or pay each of the passengers their hourly wage for the 2.5 hours they had to wait. That would smarten this idiot up.

Because if anyone were to grab the idiot's phone and turn it off they would be sued for any number of reasons and the really sad part is he would probably win the suit.

Unless he can prove that he lost some "major business deal" as a result, I don't see what he could win.

It won't happen.

Heard a story on the radio today that 1 day ago in 2002 after the 9/11 attacks a guy forgot his camera in his car and ran to his car to get it. He then realized that he would miss his flight so he ran backwards on the escalator where people are getting off. Police chased him and couldn't find them so they evacuated the entire airport into the parking lot and searched everything. They sent out empty planes because they had other scheduled landings.

They found the guy and arrested him to only fine him $3000. Fucker caused millions of dollars in delays and such and he only has to pay $3000. By the way it was over a UGA football game that he didn't want to miss.

They shoudl DB Cooper people like that.
