Default It only took 2 years and 8 months...

Before

After

I now know how fast I am going.

So stokes...tried it out today and it is nice and easy to read.

Aside from the broken needle...that jumped and bounced when you drove over 60...the upgrade also gives me turn signal indicators (never worked on the old gauges) and display lights if I ever need to ride at night again.

Although the oil temp is not hooked up yet and the tachometer is acting a little fishy...said I was hitting red line in 6th gear going 70 on the freeway. Hubby thinks he knows the problem so not too worried about that.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to get a stock unit off ebay? Plug and play.

Awesome.

How long to install?

Hard job?

Did the bike have a cable speedo or electronic?

Did it have a tach before?

Tach problem could be a smiple change in how many cylinders you have in the dash settings.

The install was not terribly difficult but it was time consuming to figure out and splice together all the wires. Also, the hubby had to design and fabricate brackets for the speed sensor and display mounting. It came with a display mounting bracket but it would not have worked for mounting it in the stock location.

Original speedo was cable which is why I had to mount a new speed sensor instead of tapping into a stock electronic signal.

It did have a tachometer before and it worked fine. The setting are fine but Hubby thinks that the way he put the excess wire (instead of cutting it off) is messing with the signal. He is going to redo it when he puts the new water (not oil) temperature sensor in.
