Lol, the average driver make 5 - 20 million? Yea, Virgin, HRT, Lotus, STR, or Force India may average into that range. The big 3 or 4 pay massive contracts. Kimi Raikkonnen was set to make 49 MILLION in 2010 for Ferarri before they gave him the boot to make room for Fernando Alonso. Which to this day baffles me why they didnt boot Massa, who hasnt done shit, in favor of Raikkonnen who did win a championship. Politics I guess.... Some of those numbers also dont take into account the massive R&D money that each team shells out to keep up on rule loopholes, ie the blown diffuser, the double diffuser, flexing wings, and the almost banned trick exhaust designed by Maclaren. As well as legal stuff like KERS and DRS. It must be staggering the money they shell out....

My guess is that "regular" is a pretty loose term. Here's some interesting fuel talk from a few years ago.

IIRC, last year when I was watching an F1 race, the announcers were stating that the Ferrari and McClaren Mercedes both have a team budget of about $500 million a year.
