My new addiction...
Just sharing because I am proud I have reached a little milestone. Since I started riding I have been working my way up to this road. Riding has obviously been an addiction for me for a while but now I am addicted to this stretch of highway. Yesterday was my second time on this road and aside from being SUPER cold (for me anyway ) it was a great day.
I posted these pictures in the POTM thread but I did not want to hijack that thread with discussion. I circled where those pictures was taken here...

On my local twisty road, I met some young riders at the top of the mountain. They both had come up the mountain on very fast bikes, but were afraid to go down the steep, twisty road. Instead, they went west and took the Interstate down. |

This road is GOLD. We went yesterday (Saturday afternoon) and even though the freeway was pretty packed we only let four bikes (2 groups of two) pass up going the same direction as us. That was it! For about 40 miles on the beautiful road. Last time we went there were more bikes but still not bad...plus NO cops! There is a sign at the bottom that says END 40 MPH...and that's it. There are speed limit signs leading into the really tight turns but no where else. Pure heaven. |
