Today's Route
In a few minutes I'll be heading out for day 3 of this week's ride. Yesterday was great, ended up on a sketchy mountain road after dark and in the rain, but still had a good time. The wildlife count for the day was 4 deer (2 in the road), 1 possum, 2 field mice, 1 pheasant, 3 dogs (all walking across/down the road).
For everyone stuck at their desk today (suckers! ), this is today's plan, subject to last second changes when I pass by a road that gets my attention Edit: Apparently we can't embed google maps here. I'm going riding, not messing with this today. <iframe width="640" height="480" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Russell+Rd+NW&am p;daddr=Hwy-421+N%2FTN-34%2FTN-91%2FUS-421+to:36.181671,-82.261505+to:US-19W+to:US-25%2FUS-70+to:TN-71%2FUS-441+to:Fontana+Rd%2FNC-28+to:US-129&geocode=FdoqMAIdxAUd-w%3BFYTFLAIdHmgf-w%3B%3BFU7VJQIdEE0W-w%3BFTyyIwIdkAUQ-w%3BFcy3HwIdansG-w%3BFdX1GwIdqZgC-w%3BFecfHQIdOHv_-g&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=2& sz=11&via=1,2,3,4,5,6&sll=36.190538,-82.290344&sspn=0.350231,0.725784&ie=UTF8&a mp;ll=35.996896,-82.312317&spn=0.533308,0.878906&z=10&o utput=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=embed&saddr=Russell+Rd+NW& amp;daddr=Hwy-421+N%2FTN-34%2FTN-91%2FUS-421+to:36.181671,-82.261505+to:US-19W+to:US-25%2FUS-70+to:TN-71%2FUS-441+to:Fontana+Rd%2FNC-28+to:US-129&geocode=FdoqMAIdxAUd-w%3BFYTFLAIdHmgf-w%3B%3BFU7VJQIdEE0W-w%3BFTyyIwIdkAUQ-w%3BFcy3HwIdansG-w%3BFdX1GwIdqZgC-w%3BFecfHQIdOHv_-g&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=2& sz=11&via=1,2,3,4,5,6&sll=36.190538,-82.290344&sspn=0.350231,0.725784&ie=UTF8&a mp;ll=35.996896,-82.312317&spn=0.533308,0.878906&z=10" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small> |

This weekend I'll try to put together a map of the whole 1377 mile ride. Hit most of the obligatory roads and a bunch of lesser known (sometimes sketchy!) spots. |

Damn sorry I couldn't come along with you this time. I gotta look for a job finally... I only have 8 more weeks of unemployment coming... Oh well, I'm sure glad that Obama is on the case, I'm sure that I'll be fine!!! |
