Default The time finally came...

....and I replaced the Avalanche. She was getting pretty high on the odometer and I got new truck fever. After researching, test driving, and discussing pricing on every half-ton out there, I bought this.

2009 Silver Birch Metallic Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 4wd extended cab with the L76 6.0L and 6-spd auto Max Trailering Pack. The truck came with the 20" wheels and the folding hard tonneau cover. I didn't intend to get this high of a trim level package, but the deal just worked out too well.

very nice!! so as long as you mentioned max trailering, what is the tow capacity on her?

I'm thinking of replacing mine in the next year. Let us know how you like it.

10,400lbs is the tow rating on the 4wd extended cab. I'm loving this truck so far. It's a definite upgrade from the 2002 Avalanche I traded.....and I loved that thing.

10,400 is pretty respectable. 367 HP is nice. Thx for info.

Good question. I love my 2004 Av but alas I must sell it this winter for a move to Japan. The blue book says about 10-11K but I was wondering if I could get more for it.

I didn't get much for it. It was a 2002 base model with some door dings, faded cladding, 138k miles and some small paint blemishes. Blue book trade in value around here was ranging between $4k - $6k. They gave me $5500. Fortunately, it had been paid off for a few years and they got the price down to where I wanted it on the new truck.

Nope....two reasons, they gave me more for my trade than the clunker money would pay and you can't trade a "Class 2 truck" for another one.
