Almost 9 years and finally...

I finally made some modifications to my bike after almost 9 years of ownership.

I "designed" a fender eliminator and had a couple guys make it for me.. too cheap to buy one. Plus I wanted to have a license plate light and use certain turn signals so it kind of needed to be custom.

I also bought a slip-on exhaust... hence the reason I was asking about oval vs round and material. I had already bought what I wanted, but was curious anyway. Dropped from 13lbs to about 4lbs. I think I heard my bike sigh when I took off the factory muffler.

Sorry - not the best picture. Will take a better one another day.

How many miles do you have on it now?

racedoll 05-07-2013 11:20 PM

20,733

Dont feel cheap about tye fender eliminator. Those things are stupid priced.

The Hindle looks sick...

I know what you mean about the weight though. My bike already had the Leo Vinces on it, but the original owner turned the box in with the original exhaust cans, so the dealer gave them to me. Jesus H Christ.... I picked up that box and was not ready for that kind of weight. I think I almost dropped it on my foot. I can only imagine what that kind of weight would have done to the handling and acceleration...

Good guess. It's a 98 VFR and is Erik's.

And thank you PorkChop. I am pleased with the Hindle thus far. I can't wait to hear it when I take it down the road and the packing settles more.

It only took me 3 years to put a slip on...On. Pissed i didnt do it sooner.

Love kawi green...Looks good!

Rangerscott 05-08-2013 05:36 PM

I just get lucky with ebay on slip ons. Ill never pay even close to full price for a slip. Call me cheap but I think they are way over priced.

Me too. It's the only color this one came in so you don't get much choice.

With the bike being as old as it is, I got stuff on clearance. One benefit of waiting so long,

Rangerscott 05-08-2013 08:49 PM

I can wait as long as it takes. I scored a whole oem fairing set and tank for my viffer for $400 or $500. A lot better tuan spending that much or more on chinese fairing sets.

Hey, that looks really good!

Finally got out for a ride today. And took a better picture.

Homeslice 05-11-2013 10:13 PM

Nice.....I had an 03, but it had the ugly sliver frame, lol. I like your black frame better.

I remember the throttle on it being very smooth. Kinda weak down low though.

Did you have the R or RR? The 04 R were silver too... that's why I went with the RR, to have a black frame.

The air/fuel mix is kind of crappy with the stock exhaust. I'm hoping that Kawi designed it like that knowing most would change that out and it will be better now.

You went with less CC's and power for a black frame??? A powdercoater could have easily fixed that.

I didn't need the extra 36cc's, 600cc is plenty. I'm the type of person that I get exactly what I want. I'm spending the money so I'm not going to settle on something I don't really want.

Sure I could have powder coated it, but I'm realistic in knowing that never would have happened. Look how long it has taken me to do the mods I've just done.

There are plenty of other differences between the R and RR. I like being different, few people have the RR.

At the time, the 600 had better suspension than the 636. The 636 was known for being crude-riding.

Oh yeah, and let's dismount the engine, forks etc. just to powdercoat the frame. Not.
