Out, just got a new job. Couldn't get the time off.

G-Rex 03-18-2013 07:24 AM

I'll be there! Riding down and meeting up with a guy from our Dallas office. I don't have my ticket in front of me but I'll check it and post up.

RACER X 03-29-2013 01:56 AM

Just got our tickets

azoomm 03-30-2013 12:26 PM

I have T15 tickets, BMW suite access and will be in the Yamaha garage. I don't think I'll need the seat tickets if someone wants them.

Krabill 04-01-2013 11:48 AM

In. Got a bunch of us coming down from Tulsa.

I don't have my tickets in hand yet so I don't know where they are, but we'll be there.

Cutty72 04-01-2013 11:01 PM

Can I get the suite access and/or garage access?

Zoomie,

My girlfriend just had knee surgery. We've only got ga tickets and I'd take those seats so she has a place to sit down if nobody else needs them.

Do you think the lack of replies was because nobody knows WTF you just said or because they don't want to waste a perfectly good breakfast meeting you?

Then again, nobody says the two options are mutually exclusive.

RACER X 04-22-2013 09:26 AM

RACER X 04-22-2013 10:16 AM

I think everybody I talked w had T15 seats

next yr we are just going to buy general admission tickets and wonder the track

Krabill 04-22-2013 10:27 AM

The track was beautiful. The racing was good. The traffic getting in/out of the facility is atrocious. Did a little 4-wheeling in the Jeep getting out of there all three days. Got back to Tulsa about 2am. Ugh.

. . . and I've got a hell of a sunburn

RACER X 04-22-2013 11:00 AM

Tracey said he didn't get back till 1am, I was home by 530

had to leave after motto gp, get home get kids ready for Mon morn

G-Rex 04-22-2013 11:11 AM

I finally got home around 1am! Damn traffic was stupid!

Getting out of Austin was easy, as the Texas DPS Challenger pursuit car they had on display at the track was right in front of us on 130. He was doing 95 so we just picked up on his draft. lol

Once we hit Temple, traffic came to a screeching halt and stayed that way until Hillsboro. 3 hours to go 70 miles. WTF man.

Lane closures all over the place between Austin and Dallas. I was ready to beat people.

It was good seeing everyone I caught up with over the weekend! Ed, no problem hauling Deidra around. Although I think the BMW spoiled her. I doubt you'll be able to get her on the Aprilia now. :lol

I had my co-pilot working the gps overtime finding us back roads to get around all the stopped traffic between Austin and Dallas. Even accidentally wound up right in the middle of the mess in West, TX (fertilizer explosion site). There were cops EVERYWHERE, fire trucks, etc. all over that little town. The streets were blocked off with temporary concrete barricades. Spooky. Made it through, though. One more re-route around a blockage right in Dallas, then smooth sailing the rest of the way, but it still took 2 hours longer to get home than it did to get to Austin because of the traffic.

RACER X 04-22-2013 11:59 AM

oh yeah we met Keith Code at our hotel

people on other forums, saw Nicky and Colin down on 6th street Sat night

RACER X 04-22-2013 12:46 PM

COTA site says nearby 132'000 people

azoomm 04-23-2013 11:37 AM

Sorry I didn't get out to see y'all. This was the first time I've been to a GP with family. I used all my passes on them. I thought it was a big deal meeting Rossi. Then later that afternoon I got to hang out with him while with my daughter, Aimee and Steve (sister and BIL). I thought by brother-in-law's head was going to explode

A few crappy pictures: https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A85qXGF1Gq9Ayb

Porkchop 04-23-2013 12:01 PM

Wow Zoom... awesome pictures. I thought I was lucky to talk to Pedrosa in the parking lot and high five Rossi through a chain link fence last year at Indy. In retrospect... not as cool.

BTW. Who is the guy on the right? Looks eerily similar to my D.O.C. president Chris??

Can't see the pic, assuming its the one of me and Vale. The guy on his left is Max. That's his best friend and personal assistant.

I know, I know

I don't usually get autographs. But, I had worn my SIC hat that day. I took it off and handed it to him. He held it for a moment, BEEMED then hugged me. He signed the brim. It tugged at my heart.

Picture #4 in the slideshow, 2 bald guys in "Free Kevin" shirts. I'm trying to get ahold of him because I knew he was down there.

Krypt Keeper 04-24-2013 09:52 AM

I enjoyed the track, had a great time there for 3 days.

Traffic wasn't too bad for me all 3 days even after the GP races.

Really disappointed in how COTA had things organized and the areas around the track. I realize its their first GP race, but talking to a few others who have been to various other bike races we all had thought they would have done things better.

Also wonder why they changed things from the F1 race to the GP race. T11 no longer had stands or the big screens. Personally thought it was one of the best turns of the track.
