Yeah, personally, I wouldn't change a trigger on one even if I could. If it came to that, I'd go with a dedicated .22 upper and use it with a lower that already has the trigger I want in it. That said here's a thread with some proven aftermarket triggers, maybe it can help the guy:
http://snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...Number=2690274 I think I'm going to go with a Magpul edition M&P 15-22 and have a gunsmith re-profile the barrel to pencil spec. (I want a super light gun for my daughter to run in club matches.) |

This ammo shortage is fucking ridiculous. It's just like gas prices. Now that companies know people will pay these prices, why bring them down?
Over 300 fucking dollars for 1k of .223. Give me a break. Cant fucking wait until my 5.45x39 upper ships out. I'll shoot that dirty crap ammo all day every day. |

So I went on a buying spree this weekend; got a 5.45 M&P upper (since all surplus 5.45 is corrosive I'm going to wait for my New Frontier polymer lowers to come in before shooting it, no way I'm putting any of that stuff through my KAC lower) 4,000 rounds of 5.45, M&P Shield (I think I'm really going to like this gun), and an M&P 15-22 though not the Magpul edition I wanted to get.

Still waiting on my adams arms 5.45x39 upper to ship.

You guys thinking about buying a 5.45, might want to look into getting your ammo now if you haven't already. AIM, and ammunition to go are out, Wideners says they're limited on hand, and SGammo is down to 6 full cases.

I don't know if they could have stocked up enough. I've heard stories of one person buying 77,000 rounds. Thats the bad thing about cheap surplus. After its gone, its gone.
Maybe if Romney wins most of it will go back on the market at cut rate prices as people try to recoup some of their money. |

F&N PS90
I am considering a new Range Toy and would like to know if anyone is Shooting a PS90? I know about ammo prices, but wondering about day to day use? Anything to be aware of? I have not played with this platform so I would appreciate any experience anyone has to offer |

It was fun to shoot, but I think that had more to do with the unique design than anything else. The clear plastic magazine which is out of the way and wont be broken gives you a good indication of how much you have left. Its comfortable to hold, smaller than it feels, but it takes a little more effort to aim. After the first 50 or so rds I shot I pretty much had it. But after each break in shooting I had to deal with a small learning curve to remember that I wasnt shooting an AR. |
Ordered me there one of thems futuristic space type AR lowers. Yippers.

I have to admit, I've been a little curious about how those 5.7's shoot and I've seen lots of spent rounds at the range, but I've never been fortunate enough to be there when someone has one. |
The Army has ordered that soldiers may use only government-issued magazines with their M4 carbines, a move that effectively bans one of the most dependable and widely used commercial-made magazines on today’s battlefield.
The past decade of war has spawned a wave of innovation in the commercial soldier weapons and equipment market. As a result, trigger-pullers in the Army, Marines and various service special operations communities now go to war armed with commercially designed kit that’s been tested under the most extreme combat conditions. Near the top of such advancements is the PMAG polymer M4 magazine, introduced by Magpul Industries Corp. in 2007. Its rugged design has made it as one of the top performers in the small-arms accessory arena, according to combat veterans who credit the PMAG with drastically improving the reliability of the M4. Despite the success of the PMAG, Army officials from the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command issued a “safety of use message” in April that placed it, and all other polymer magazines, on an unauthorized list. The message did not single out PMAGs, but instead authorizes only the use of Army-issued aluminum magazines. The message offers little explanation for the new policy except to state that “Units are only authorized to use the Army-authorized magazines listed in the technical manuals.” Nor does it say what Army units should now do with the millions of dollars’ worth of PMAGs they’ve purchased over the years. Magpul officials have been reluctant to comment on the issue. Robert Vidrine, vice president of marketing and sales, said the company found out about TACOM’s message only after it was released to the field. The decision has left combat troops puzzled, since the PMAG has an Army-approved national stock number, which allows units to order them through the Army supply system. “This just follows a long line of the Army, and military in general, not listening to the troops about equipment and weaponry,” said one Army infantryman serving in Southwest Afghanistan, who asked not to be identified. “The PMAG is a great product … lightweight and durable. I have seen numerous special ops teams from all services pass through here, and they all use PMAGs. Also, a large amount of Marine infantry here use PMAGS, including their Force Recon elements.” TACOM officials said the message was issued because of “numerous reports that Army units are using unauthorized magazines,” TACOM spokesman Eric Emerton said in a written response to questions from Military.com. Emerton added that only “authorized NSNs have ever been included in the technical manuals. Just because an item has an NSN, does not mean the Army is an authorized user.” This seems to be a complete policy reversal, since PMAGs are standard issue with the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment and they have been routinely issued to infantry units before war-zone deployments. Soldiers from B Troop, 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, had been issued PMAGs before deploying to Afghanistan in 2009. On Oct. 3 of that year, they fought off a bold enemy attack on Combat Outpost Keating that lasted for more than six hours and left eight Americans dead. Some soldiers fired up to 40 PMAGs from their M4s without a single stoppage. Militay.com asked TACOM officials if the Army had discovered any problems with PMAGs that would warrant the ban on their use. TACOM officials would not answer the question and instead passed it off to Program Executive Office Soldier on Thursday evening before the four-day Memorial Day weekend. TACOM’s message authorizes soldiers to use the Army’s improved magazine, which PEO Soldier developed after the M4 finished last against three other carbines in a 2007 reliability test. The “dust test” revealed that 27 percent of the M4’s stoppages were magazine related. The improved magazine uses a redesigned “follower,” the part that sits on the magazine’s internal spring and feeds the rounds into the M4’s upper receiver. The new tan-colored follower features an extended rear leg and modified bullet protrusion for improved round stacking and orientation. The self-leveling/anti-tilt follower reduces the risk of magazine-related stoppages by more than 50 percent compared to the older magazine variants, PEO Soldier officials maintain. Soldiers are also authorized to use Army magazines with the older, green follower until they are all replaced, the message states. Military.com asked the Army if the improved magazine can outperform the PMAG, but a response wasn’t received by press time. The same infantryman serving in Southwest Afghanistan had this to say about the new and improved magazine: “Like any magazine, they work great when they are brand new and haven’t been drug through the dirt and mud. I haven’t noticed much of a difference between these tan followers and the older green ones. After some time training up for the 'Stan, the same issues started to occur: double feeds, rounds not feeding correctly so on and so on. While it seems to occur about half as often, it’s still not a great solution. “The magazines still get bent at the opening and are still prone to getting crushed in the middle. I haven’t seen any issues like this with the PMAG due to the polymer casing. I have seen an empty PMAG get run over by a MaxPro [vehicle] and operated flawlessly later that week when we tested it at the range. Last time I saw this happen to a standard issue magazine, it was scrap metal after that.” http://www.military.com/daily-news/2...2887570&rank=1 |

I finally got my New Frontier lowers set up for the uppers that were going to go on them. The one that the 5.45 was going to go on needed a heavier hammer spring installed (supplied with the upper so its probably a common issue) because the stock one was too light to set off the primers. The lower that my Chiappa .22 upper was going on needed a rimfire/9mm specific hammer installed as the stock one is too wide.
After replacing the spring, the 5.45 failed to fire the first round with another light primer strike but ran after that. The Chiappa was flawless with the new hammer installed. I have two other NF lowers set aside, so when I get the chance, I'll unpin my KAC and put the upper on one of them to see how they run with an upper they were designed for installed. The trigger is very good. There's no take-up and it breaks very cleanly with little travel. http://i48.tinypic.com/15d2885.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2mpabfs.jpg |
I was missing my with Fisher-Price lower and the trigger is nice. I wonder if they'll make a two stage poly assembly for them?

It's not a Magpul, but I got a deal I couldn't refuse on it from a soldier in Killeen. I replaced the stock with a Magpul CTR, the sights with aluminum Troy folders and bolted on an EOTech XPS 2.0. Her sling is a VTAC sliding two point. It still needs to go to ADCO to get the barrel re-profiled. Is that an Aimpoint T1 on your FN? http://i48.tinypic.com/25i10sp.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/301ld15.jpg |

They are good. I discovered a couple of weeks ago I forgot to turn off a T1 back in December and it was still going strong. The battery in it has been in use since 2010.
This is the first EOTech I've bought. It seems to be a hair faster than the Aimpoint to target. |

I run the PDX's in my SW Governor 410 isn't AS impressive as the 12's but I can count on them to rap it up quickly
|
Ok I have the fever again. and with Fathers day coming up I may treat myself to another firearm. I have three or four things popping in and out of my mind. 1 a few years ago Someone made a good offer on My Bulgarian AK74 and I have yet to replace it. 2 I have always liked the concept of long gun and handgun in the same caliber so there are 2, possibilities here. A, I have a great SW Performance center Model 29 V-comp, so grabbing up either a Rossi or Winchester lever In 44 mag is attractive. ( a Ruger Semi Auto Carbine would be great too but hard to find) In the Same Vein option B. I love my new PS90 (except for Ammo Cost) and grabbing up a Five-seveN with 3 or 4 20 round Mags is attractive as well (pricey but in my mind way cool) # I see Cdnn still has the S&W the 5.45x39 Uppers They are neat and having an AR in a 7th Caliber has its attractions as well, but I am little fearful of grabbing the wrong Mag Gun Combo.
Lastly and out side of my Budget unless I sell something the PS90's Big Brother the FS2000 Despite it odd looks I like the bullpup design it is left hand friendly and because of it's short nature Ideal for running a Can on. So let me know where the Hive Mind gos with this |
You can run 25 rnds of 5.45 in windowed pmags for 5.56 from what Ive read.

For the 300 Blackout and ONLY the 300 Blackout I use 20 round P Mags . Black for Subsonic and FDE for Super Sonic There is less of a challenge on the 7.62x39 the 30 rounders have such a different profile that there is no confusion. |
Hopefully friday or sunday I'll be a proud owner of an SVT 40. BANG BANG BITCHES!

OK So I mentioned a bunch of choices earlier. and here is the one I made.
http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i..._photo/026.jpg Went with side arm and carbine in the same caliber. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i..._photo/023.jpg This is by far one of the lightest full size handguns I have ever held. The trigger is incredible for an out of the box handgun. Recoil is minimal it feels like a 22 mag. However the rounds whistling THROUGH the 22 mag rated spinners indicate a much better penetration rate. I think I am in love! |
Nice overpriced .22 you got there. LOL
Svt pics soon. |
