Do they even make a diesel GTI?
I looked at a GTI and went with the Volvo instead... personal preference. |

Plus they'd probably ask $30K for it. Sean is that your new race whip? Are those Comp T/A R1's? |
I've drove a Jetta diesel and it was slower than dog shit!

I still think those look like a 2 door bonniville. Performance isn't bad, but the styling... Pontiac went from the '02 T/A to that...

Yeah, performance isn't too terrible (400hp/400tq LS2). I like the sleeper look. I think I'm going to get the wing removed. It looks tarded. |
Something like BBS RK's would look good on that car

Fit/Finish is better than what you'd expect. Or better than what I expected but what I paid for this car I could have bought a very sweet used car. It's a lounge convertible with NAV, leather, and everything else they offered. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6227/6...5ba96f68_b.jpg It's sitting on Eibach prolines and sparco Assetto Gara in 17 inch. I plan on swaybars and better shocks when they become available. I'm not doing the exhaust/intake/ecm thing because I'd end up scoring about the same horsepower as a corolla. Gas mileage could be better. It's the 6 speed auto. I average about 30 but using the eco-drive I've seen 35. I have a friend with the 5 speed manual and he sees 41mpg in mixed driving. |

I'd like to add that I ordered this car well before their marketing retardation. Back in may. The 500C wasn't even out yet.

thats a mid $25k ? Z wants something sporty and convert. was thinking camaro SS conver but kinda trailerish and $30k+, Lexus IS (250/30) C , but even a used 250 is $30-35k, 350 = $35-40k USED, infinity G37c $35k+ i think that lil 500 looks like a barrel of monkeys and the kids would luv it too. |

Bought myself an sweet old truck. Started out looking for a Chevy, but ended up with a nice Ford.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-S...uckasaurus.JPG 1978 Ford F150 with the 400ci V8 and a long bed. My timing could have been better, what with gas heading towards $4 a gallon, but this was what I was looking for at a really nice price. |
Woa, nice truck.

Nice find. If it was 4x4, I'd say lift it and go w/a 351 Windsor.
Since it's not, drop it and keep the 400 or up to a 429 (if you can find one). Build a solid C6 and you'll be golden. |
Love the old truck!!!

The market is up, I was bored...came home with this one day. 2002 Saab Aero 5-spd wagon. 260hp, crazy torque, great brakes, handles...um did I mention it's got great torque! Got it STUPID cheap because it had a cracked tail light & fog light, the tailgate struts were done and the shocks were totally shot. $40 for a salvage tail light, $40 for a set of tailgate struts and a set of Koni FSDs and I have something that can carry many cases of wine back from the Santa Ynez Valley at crazy speeds. It was a blast passing 5-6 cars at a time in the mountain pass up from Santa Barbara. I got 24 mpg doing it too.
This thing is retarded. I look like an idiot driving it. Fuck you, I don't care. I think. Maybe. |
So is that the turbo V6?
I was thinking about those cars a year ago, they look nice, but the magazines never compared well against BMWs/Audis etc.......But for the price you can get them for, it doesn't matter |
The base engine is a small turbo 4 (185hp), the middle engine is a oddly, slightly boosted v6 (~200hp), and the fastest motor is a big turbo on the 4 again (250/260hp). That's what I got.
It doesn't handle as well as a 5-series. But it's more comfortable and costs about a third as much. I don't need a fast car, I have a race car to get my jollies in. |
Quote:
Too bad the company is gone for good. Wonder if thats a Saab specific block or if its shared with other cars in the GM portfolio of that era. |
Still driving the 97 Camry. It will have 250,000 miles on it within the week. It will likely have 500,000 miles on it before I get rid of it, if I get rid of it.

I sold my Fiat and bought another Fiat.

Abarth ain't out yet. Not sold on those anyway. I like them...but if I wanted a fast car (and the abarth to me isn't a fast car) I'd buy a really fast car. Not a little eco car with 60 more HP.
I bought a sport model with a 5 speed. I like it. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7188/6...2e999e89_o.jpg |
I'm diggin those teddygram wheels Ed.....they'd fit the fiat well
|
i think they fit scott better then the fiat, lol
i sold a set when i sold tires way back, went on a white rabbit convert. , yeah a chic and chic car. they were made by Ronal, 4x100 which fit most ft wheel dr small cars back then and even nowadays even. |
They look 50 lbs each, lol

I bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab yesterday, with 14,000 miles, and traded in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, which put my cost under $20K. The truck is just a means of transporting my bike. So now I have no excuse for not coming to the east coast rally this spring.

Picked up an 09 Escape last month. About 25k miles. V6 awd.
Liking it a lot so far. Its a bit harder on gas than I was expecting. That could be caused by mashing the accelerator all the time. |
^ next baby seat..............lol

and it's 2 inches lower. |
scot, friend picked up her Abarth, goes next to her maserati and his ferrari........lol
2" is a HUGE drop.......most are 1" looks good man! |
Quote:
If the latter, damn |
Base. The Abarth is only .5-.75 inches lower. This set up will only lower the Abarth 1.5 inches.
I can't go lower in the rear even with coilovers. You can pretty much set the front on the ground. I have no plans to do that. My car actually ride pretty smoothly and isn't bad at all. I commute in it. Here's a shot next to other 500s... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7231/7...e770c036_b.jpg What's funny is that at the 500 meets our local dealer has every now and again, people all pay attention to my car...and little attention to the actual Abarths there. |

As for the Shelby Ive been making strides :lol http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...95729948_n.jpg split a spare two piece intake manifold. going to buy 3.1 liters worth of D-shaped extrusion from ross machine racing and make a new giant plenum for it then port the shit out of the lower and slap on a 58mm throttle from a 3.8 caravan. Probably have it powdercoated some garish color with "Bad mother fucker" written on it somewhere :lol http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...618_233330.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...618_233507.jpg |
Totally different frames? The magazines always said that they all shared the K-car platform. Omni, Charger, Daytona, Lancer, Shadow, etc.

Your injectors are exactly like the ones on my 1.6L. :lol I wonder what yours are rated at?[/QUOTE] Not too surprising, lots of cars use bosch. Stock Turbo II injectors are rated 33 pph @ 55psi of fuel pressure. I have a set of 52 pphs that will go in once this manifold is built and then I'll probably switch to dsm style and get stupid |
NSX is nearly gone and a guy on the turbo boards is offering up a running, driving dart sport cloned into a joe dirt looking 72 demon. 3K, stick. SERIOUSLY tempted. Ive always wanted a demon and with what id do to it it would be better for me to have a clone

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-05-02_293.jpg Converting to a 92 style rear end. negligible weight gain (grams) and it might up aero since it sticks out a little more. looks better in my opinion and thats the important thing :P http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-56-06_971.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-11-05_641.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-11-26_980.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-08-29_690.jpg Also got my plenum material and a cnc'ed tb plate for the big intake. finished product will be close to double engine displacement which will breathe like woah up top. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-41-48_362.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-41-21_292.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-41-07_409.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-42-04_882.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-41-52_187.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...-40-44_110.jpg waiting on some weld in bungs for the vacuum fittings and then my fabricator buddy is going to weld it up then we'll get her powdercoated and paint "bad mother fucker" on it :P Also plunked down money for a seriously ported big valve head, same guy is going to hog out my intake manifold lower...AND I have a PnP 60mm throttle on the way for the bad mofo intake Also need to hit the junkyard soon for a one piece gasket-TBI valve cover which i'll likely strip, polish, and send out for custom etching :D fun times Oh, P.S. Its up to 20 psi now, stock turbo is tapped out but she rolls on the highway. lol. Period correct old school Apexi-AVC-r ROCKS! |
