So it takes somewhere between two and three times as long to make welded mail, but it's a hell of a lot stronger than butted rings. This is 5/16", 16 gauge stainless steel.

The pattern is European 4-in-1; the most common pattern for medieval European armour. Each ring links to 4 others. Every now and then I do screw up and have to cut a ring out, then secure a new one in place.

hoping to see Jen CosPlay with this piece, sometime soon. She wanted to try and make the chainmail minidress work for it but I knew that it wouldn't, and so made her the new piece instead.
