Huh, I was looking at the rules for the local long range in the wildlife management area and they just ban all shotguns outright.

Shotgun racism.

No... it's not bad... minor annoyance. I'd just prefer to shoot all day and not feel it at all the next day...

Sucks but that's the new reality. They had quite a bit when I left but I'd call first. (I bought mine at 11:55 am)

That was the case at Gander Mtn saturday here! VERY limited 5.56/223 on the shelf. They had some steel casing crap for $29 a 50 round box OR Winchester 55 grain 5.56 for $12 a 20 round box. But they DID have a 7500 round metal barrel of. 308 tracer for $6,999 :rockwoot:

The winchester ammo was stacked 5 high on the middle shelf on the 223/5.56 aisle and I grabbed what I wanted (or should I say what I could afford that day) and turned to walk away when I was almost knocked down by a skinny guy coming from my right who had just eyed it himself. While he was attempting to knock me over I noticed a shopping cart almost hitting me from the left side with some fat dude with a gun show stamp on his right hand pushing the cart. Fat dude had his left arm extended with left hand behind the boxes, walking and scooping them into the cart as if he was on "Supermarket Sweep". The boxes of ammo falling in his cart by "5"s as the other guy started stacking them on his left arm 5 at a time in a FURY as fast as HE could. I backed up in a gap in the aisle behind us and watched as these two "competitors" did their best to rid the entire shelf of this ammo. Skinny guy still could have held 2 more stacks of 5 but fat boy had cleared the shelf of it. They stood there glaring at each other for a few seconds, then they both moved down to the cheap .223 ammo where skinny boy held his ground "looking" and blocking fatboys cart LOL
If I didn't have my arms full of ammo I coulda video'd this lovely turn of events

Not a terrible thing to do, but VERY poorly executed.

They should have set up a table with their weapons on display and a sign saying, "let me educate you on 'assault rifles'" or something.

Shot my M1A for the first time today, shit was a blast. LOVE THAT GUN

Also shot a FN FAL, heavy barrel AR, some little 22 AR lookalike, a 1911 replica that was a 22, my XD9SC

Some dude showed up with a BMG 50 and about destroyed my ear drums. Dude was shooting with a very large scope at 25 yard targets on a 50 yard max plinking range. Guess he was really bored...

Think I am going to convert a Ruger 10/22 after suggestions on facebook, that AR replica 22 was a fucking blast to plink for cheap. The M1A is amazing, but costs a fortune to shoot right now.

I've got the 15/22 and I absolutely love it.

My buddy has a 10/22 he's sunk about $500 into with a bull barrel, stock, trigger job, all the bells and whistles and he shoots sub 3" patterns with it at 100 yards.

Thing is....so does my son with our 15/22 with just a scope! And that's with cheap ammo

Fuck Bank of America. I had a couple of accounts and a credit card with them for years... randomly, I got a letter saying my credit card was going to be charged an annual fee of like $57 or something... Fuck that, called and bitched, they wouldn't budge (had it escalated two levels)... I cancelled. No bullshit, one month later I got an application, pre-approved, for the EXACT SAME CARD with no fees. I closed my checking and savings account that day.

My reaction to most of them is somewhere between "Why hasn't that happened already?" and "Who cares?". The only one I see that could be controversial is 2. Depending on how "unnecessary legal barriers" is defined, what information they decide the states should be making available to the NICS, and where the bar will be set to deny someone a firearm there could be a lot of people who have an issue with it.

Massive Boycott and Civil Disobedience of New York’s New Gun Laws Planned
2013 January 21

Last week, New York state passed the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Banning magazines that hold more than 7 rounds and requiring registration of all weapons that the new law defines as “assault weapons”.

Now gun owners, gun store owners and shooting range owners are planning massive civil disobedience to the new laws.

According to the NY Post leaders of some of the state’s 300 gun clubs, gun dealers and Second Amendment organizations are organizing the boycott — and the heaviest interest is in Suffolk County, the Capital District and the Buffalo region, sources said.

The organizers point to a little-known guarantee of gun ownership contained in New York’s own “Civil Rights Law,” which was ratified the same year as the Constitution .

The state statute says the right to keep and bear arms “cannot be infringed” — stronger than the Second Amendment, which says it “shall not be infringed.”

It sounds like the residents of New York state have finally drawn their line in the sand and are tired of their state lawmakers selling their Second Amendment rights for some feel good legislation.

There are an estimated 1 million+ semi automatic rifles that would have to be registered with the state as “assault weapons” and an unknown number of standard capacity magazines.

If you’re a New York resident are you planning to boycott this new set of laws?

New Hampshire: Your Right to Self-Defense is Under Attack
Posted on January 18, 2013

On Tuesday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m., the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee will hear House Bill 135. This misguided legislation, introduced by state Representative Stephen Shurtleff (D- Merrimack 11), drastically infringes on your inherent right to self-defense by repealing important self-defense provisions enacted in 2011.
In 2011, Senate Bill 88 restored the right to self-defense in New Hampshire with broad bipartisan support and established that law-abiding citizens have the right to defend themselves and a third party from assault wherever they have the legal right to be. However, HB 135, if passed and enacted, would eradicate the aforementioned protections for law-abiding citizens acting in self-defense.
HB 135 would make the following changes to New Hampshire’s current self-defense laws:
1) Eliminates the provision that allows a person to use deadly force anywhere he or she has a legal right to be. This limits an individual’s ability to defend themselves or third party from assault to their own place of residence.
2) Amends the definition of non-deadly force by removing the provision that specifies the act of producing or displaying a weapon is considered non-deadly force. Thus, drawing or exhibiting your firearm to intimidate a perpetrator could be considered deadly force.
3) Repeals the provision granting civil immunity for the use of force in certain circumstances. The elimination of this provision removes legal protections for law abiding citizens acting in self-defense.
This legislation is a step in the wrong direction for New Hampshire. HB 135 severely encroaches on your inherent right to self-defense and will render law-abiding citizens and their loved ones defenseless victims.
Please contact members of the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee TODAY and urge them to reject this imprudent legislation that will put you and your loved ones at risk. Contact information can be found below:

Adam's and something he said. It was some closeout 18" barrel for $65

Apparently Kidd and Tactical solutions makes the best barrels for 10/22

Whistlepig's ( http://www.wpgbc.com/prices.htm ) are pretty good too, last I heard, but not as cheap as Green Mountain, Tac-Sol, or E.R. Shaw

Hmm? Who the heck's house were we at? One of the ladies accidentally left her phone with a group of us and some fabulous pics were discovered! She had been sending them to her man overseas in the war! It was a good party!

Yeah I am not after the best with this gun, I want biggest bang for the buck. Green Mountain keeps coming up every thread I come up with.

Brain fart! It was Troy Policky! Got my Troys confused!

B5 SOPMOD in FDE. With the stock it'll match up almost exactly to my SR-15.

Cindy Yorgason was in line at the J.C. Penney in Riverdale on Wednesday when she looked up and saw a shopper with "a large gun."

Yorgason said the rifle was slung across the back of the man in front of her. When she looked closer, she saw that he also had extra ammunition clips and a sidearm in a holster on his right hip.

"It wasn’t small," Yorgason said of the pistol.

Amid a "lot of raised eyebrows" Yorgason quickly snapped a pair of photos, which she said have been going viral on Facebook ever since. She also said the first store clerkwhom the man approached refused to serve him, and everyone in the vicinity "wanted to get away."

On Thursday, 22-year-old Joseph Kelley identified himself as the man in Yorgason’s pictures. Kelley described himself as a firm believer in Second Amendment rights and said he decided to bring the guns to the store to demonstrate that they are not dangerous in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

:

I love my AR22 (tactical Solutions) it gets more use than any of my other ARs. Just a thought on the Hydro dipping. I have not seen good long term results with it. Scratches up quick.

These idiots that keep doing things like this need to get their heads out of their hind-ends! If you are going to do something to protest an issue or bring attention to it, wear a damn shirt or sign that lets people know what it's about!
If you saw someone walking through the mall with a jar with a dead dog in their arms, you'd think they were crazy! If they carried a sign or had an explanatory shirt opposing animal cruelty or euthanasia then, you'd understand.
If you're going to make a statement, make it obvious!

Twobanger 01-24-2013 12:39 PM

Not to mention he's flagging everyone beside him. There's a right way and a wrong way to bring neutrals around. Scaring soccer moms at department stores doesn't help.

Turbo Ghost 01-24-2013 01:41 PM

I would think the only proper, safe way to carry the rifle would be with the muzzle verticle towards the sky. In the event he actually has a round in the chamber with the safety off, I could see a curious kid coming up from behind and touching the trigger and shooting whoever is beside him!
I've never really dealt with that type of rifle but, when I hunted, the muzzle was always skyward or carried with the muzzle pointed a few feet ahead of you at the ground but, usually skyward.

Exactly.
He's lucky a tactical response unit wasn't waiting to escort him "home" when he left the store. I mean, I believe open carry should be allowed, but (much like lane-splitting) legality doesn't equal an instant acceptance by the public or that other legal issues won't arise for those who choose to practice it.
I had always heard that, even in places that didn't expressly forbid open carry, a person could be cited for disturbing the peace if their piece is causing others distress in a public setting. I'm not sure if that's a fact or if it would stand up in court, but it does seem plausible.

Turbo Ghost 01-24-2013 08:03 PM

It could be considered "brandishing" and possibly reckless endangerment!

RACER X 01-24-2013 10:30 PM

Found some decently priced 9mm , but it's older then me, and that's old lol. Would y'all trust it?

Description: The 9mm Mk. IZ cartridge was introduced during World War II for use in Sten submachine guns, but it was discovered this round was insufficiently powerful to work the action of this gun reliably. Sometimes the bolt did not recoil far enough for the bent and sear to re-engage. On occasion, a Sten would "run away" and fire full-automatically until the magazine was empty. To solve this, the muzzle velocity was raised from 1250 f.p.s. to 1300 f.p.s., and the higher velocity round was given the the designation 9mm Mk. 2Z. This change was approved on March 15, 1944 and at the same time the 9mm Mk. IZ cartridge was made obsolescent. Remaining stocks of 9mm Mk. IZ ammunition were marked "Pistol Use Only." The 9mm Mk. IZ cartridge was made officially obsolete on June 6, 1957

$200/1000 + shipping

Rangerscott 01-24-2013 11:50 PM

Not for that price. Gonna guess the primers are probably hard.

At that price , personally I would buy it and relegate it to "blaster"/ range ammo. I wouldn't use it in any critical role. Also given its age I would be vigilant about cleaning and watching for a sqib round

Nope

I'd wait. They'll make more. And prices will come back from stoopid before long. All the panic buys have to face those credit card bills now

God, I hope so... I can't afford to panic buy :idk:
And if all the panickers and fearmongers are correct, I'm going to face the coming revolution with a sadly inadequate ammo supply.

You and me both! I have 100 rounds of .45 and about 13 cci stingers! So, I'm good for about 113 bad guys as long as I don't have any misfires! After that, I'll have to stab them to death!

RACER X 01-25-2013 11:39 AM

If you're indoors, and you're confident the round won't go through the ceiling to the floor above you, yeah, barrel facing up is fine. Outdoors, though, especially in a populated area, face it towards the ground. Because if you have an accidental discharge, what goes up must come down (thus why we always take it into account for distance shooting, yes?)... would hate to be the poor bastard on the other end of gravity.

Yes what a country, and when the last guy tried a school shooting I believe it lasted in the area or 12 seconds (please if anyone has hard data correct me) before a school bus driver and a soccer mom dropping her kids of put him in the dirt.

RACER X 01-26-2013 08:49 PM
